Turkish Style Rice Pilaf With Orzo Recipe (Tereyağlı Pilav)

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in warm salted water for 30 minutes, then drain. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the orzo and sauté until golden brown. Add the drained rice and stir until the rice is well coated with butter and mixed with the orzo. Pour in the hot water, add salt, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let the pilaf sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
