Turkish Coffee Recipe (Türk Kahvesi)

Directions

In a small cezve (Turkish coffee pot), combine finely ground coffee, water, and sugar (if desired). Stir well to dissolve the coffee and sugar. Place the cezve on low heat and slowly bring the mixture to a boil. As the coffee begins to foam, remove it from the heat before it boils over and carefully pour some of the foam into your coffee cup. Return the cezve to the heat and let it foam again. Pour the remaining coffee into the cup, including the grounds. Allow the coffee grounds to settle at the bottom of the cup before drinking. Serve with a glass of water and a piece of Turkish delight if desired.
